Panacur Oral Suspension is a broad-spectrum treatment for parasitic worms in both cats and dogs. It is formulated to protect your furry friends from the immature and mature stages of worms of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. This liquid wormer is effective against different species of roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms. Additionally, it helps treat lungworm infections in dogs and cats and Giardia infections in puppies and dogs.

Panacur Oral Suspension Coverage:

• Indicated for the treatment of adult dogs and cats infected with roundworms (Ascarid spp. - Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Toxocara cati), hookworms (Ancylostoma spp., Uncinaria spp.), whipworms (Trichuris spp.) and tapeworms (Taenia spp.).

How Does Panacur Suspension Work?

This liquid wormer for pets contains fenbendazole. This anthelmintic binds to the tubulin protein within cells of target parasites, preventing the formation of microtubules. It stops parasites from absorbing the required nutrients from the host, causing starvation and death. Fenbendazole is effective against mature and immature stages of nematodes, disrupting their life stages.

How to Use Panacur Suspension in Pets?

• Shake the container before use.
• Weigh your pet for dosage accuracy.
• Panacur worm treatment should be given orally.

For routine treatment of adult dogs and cats:

• Administer 1 ml per 2.2 lbs (1 kg) body weight, which is equivalent to 100 mg fenbendazole/kg body weight, as a single dose.
• You can administer the recommended dosage directly before feeding, by adding it to the feed or directly by mouth after feeding.
• In case of re-infection, retreatment may be recommended.
• The routine treatment for adult dogs and cats with minimal exposure to worms is recommended 2 to 4 times a year. For dogs in kennels, more frequent treatment at 6 to 8 weekly intervals is recommended.

Dosing Guide:

For kittens and puppies under 6 months of age:

• Administer 0.5 ml per 2.2 lbs (1 kg) body weight, which is equivalent to 50 mg fenbendazole/kg, daily by mouth to unweaned puppies after feeding for 3 consecutive days.
• For weaned pets, add to feed directly before feeding.
• Treat puppies at 2 weeks and 5 weeks of age and again before leaving the breeder’s premises.
• Repeat treatment may be required at 8 and 12 weeks of age. Thereafter, the frequency of treatment can be reduced unless the puppy remains in the kennels, where reinfection occurs frequently.

Dosing Guide:

For pregnant dogs:

• Administer 1 ml per 8.8 lbs (4 kg) body weight, which is equivalent to 25 mg fenbendazole/kg bodyweight, daily from day 40 of pregnancy continuously to two days post-whelping for approximately 25 days.
• Puppies from the treated pregnant dogs should be treated with a 3-day course at 2 and 5 weeks of age.

Dosing Guide:

For pregnant cats:

• Treat pregnant cats with a single dose at the routine adult dose rate, i.e., 1 ml per 2.2 lbs (1 kg) body weight, which is equivalent to 100 mg fenbendazole/ kg body weight, as a single dose.

For specific infections:

• To treat Giardia spp. infections in dogs, administer 1 ml per 4.4 lbs (2 kg) body weight, which is equivalent to 50 mg fenbendazole/kg body weight, daily for 3 days.
• To control lungworm (Oslerus/Filaroides osleri) infections in dogs, administer 1 ml per 4.4 lbs (2 kg) body weight, which is equivalent to 50 mg fenbendazole/kg body weight, daily for 7 consecutive days. A repeat treatment may be required in some cases.
• To control lungworm (Aelurostrongylus abstrusus) infections in cats, administer 1 ml per 4.4 lbs (2 kg) body weight, which is equivalent to 50 mg fenbendazole/kg body weight, daily for 3 consecutive days.

Panacur suspension is for use in dogs and cats only. Assess your pet's body weight as accurately as possible before calculating the dosage. Wear waterproof gloves before use and wash your hands after handling the product. Keep it out of reach of children, pets and uninformed people.

This treatment can be used in pregnant dogs. Its use in the first two trimesters of pregnancy should be based on the evaluation by a veterinarian. Keep the product's direct contact with the skin to a minimum.
